Disclaimers & Risk Disclosures
Research & information only — not investment advice.
Effective Date: July 20, 2026 · Last Updated: July 20, 2026
These Disclaimers & Risk Disclosures are part of, and incorporated into, the Terms of Service. By using rins.com (the "Service," operated by RINS.COM LLC, "RINS"), you acknowledge that you have read and understood them.
1. Research and Information Only — Not Investment Advice
RINS is a quantitative research and information tool. Everything the Service provides — including statistical signals, scores, screening or "eligibility" outputs, cointegration and mean-reversion statistics, time-series model outputs, correlations, volatility measures, hedge-ratio and position-sizing calculations, charts, and educational explanations — is provided for general informational and educational purposes only.
Nothing on the Service is investment advice or a recommendation. RINS does not:
- recommend, endorse, or advise that you buy, sell, hold, or refrain from any security, currency, or other instrument;
- provide advice that is tailored to your individual financial situation, objectives, holdings, or risk tolerance; or
- offer, solicit, or recommend any specific transaction or strategy for you.
All output is impersonal and general — it is generated by rules and statistical models, is made available on the same basis to all similarly situated subscribers, and is not individualized to any user.
2. Not an Investment Adviser, Broker, or Fiduciary
RINS is not, and does not act as, an investment adviser, broker-dealer, commodity trading advisor, futures commission merchant, financial planner, or fiduciary, and is not registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, FINRA, the NFA, or any other securities or financial regulator. No content on the Service should be interpreted as creating an advisory, fiduciary, or brokerage relationship between you and RINS.
The Service is intended to be made available as impersonal, general-circulation research and tools of regular publication, and RINS does not provide individualized investment advice for compensation.
You should consult your own licensed financial, legal, tax, and accounting advisers before making any investment decision. Any decision you make is your own independent decision and your sole responsibility.
3. Substantial Risk of Loss
Trading and investing in securities, currencies, derivatives, and pairs/spread and statistical-arbitrage strategies involve substantial risk, including the risk of losing some or all of your capital, and in some cases losses exceeding your initial investment (for example, where leverage, margin, or short positions are involved).
- Pair and spread trading is not low-risk. A statistical relationship that held historically (e.g., cointegration or mean reversion) can weaken, break, or invert. Spreads can diverge far longer and further than models anticipate, and a "mean-reverting" relationship may simply stop reverting.
- Short positions carry theoretically unlimited loss potential and borrowing/financing costs.
- Leverage and margin magnify both gains and losses.
- Liquidity, execution, slippage, financing, borrow, and transaction costs reduce real-world results and are not fully captured by the Service's statistics.
Only risk capital should be used for trading. Past performance and historical statistical relationships do not guarantee future results.
4. Hypothetical and Backtested Performance
Where the Service displays backtested, simulated, hypothetical, or model-derived performance, hit rates, Sharpe ratios, returns, or similar statistics, you must understand the following:
- Hypothetical and backtested results have inherent limitations. They are prepared with the benefit of hindsight, do not represent actual trading, and do not reflect the impact that market conditions, liquidity, financing costs, slippage, or your own decisions may have had on actual results.
- No representation is made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. There are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical results and actual results subsequently achieved.
- Model risk. Outputs depend on assumptions, parameter choices, data windows, and statistical methods that may not hold out of sample. Different parameters produce different results.
- Survivorship and look-ahead bias, data revisions, and corporate actions can affect historical statistics.
5. "Scores," "Signals," and "Eligibility" Are Screening Outputs, Not Recommendations
The Service's scores, tiers, signals, and prop/eligibility "gates" are rules-based screening and ranking outputs, not buy/sell recommendations and not an opinion that any pair or instrument is suitable for you.
- An "eligible" or high-scoring result means only that an item met the Service's predefined statistical/screening criteria; it does not mean RINS recommends it or that it is appropriate for your circumstances.
- Position-sizing outputs, including any Kelly or similar sizing figures, are mathematical calculations for informational purposes — not recommendations to allocate any particular amount of capital.
- Gate "suppression," parameter, and filter settings are user-configurable. Changing them changes the output; you are responsible for the settings you choose and for understanding their effect.
6. Data Accuracy and Availability
Market data and fundamentals are obtained from third-party vendors (including Financial Modeling Prep) and may be delayed, inaccurate, incomplete, or unavailable. RINS does not independently verify all data and is not responsible for vendor errors, omissions, delays, or interruptions. Data is not intended as real-time, exchange-grade, or order-routing data. Do not rely on the Service for time-sensitive execution decisions.
7. No Offer or Solicitation
Nothing on the Service is an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any security or instrument, or to participate in any trading strategy or fund, in any jurisdiction where such an offer or solicitation would be unlawful. The Service does not take into account the laws of your jurisdiction, and availability of the Service does not imply that its content is lawful or appropriate where you are located. You are responsible for compliance with local law.
8. Forward-Looking and Third-Party Statements
Any forward-looking statements (including model projections or forecasts) are subject to risks and uncertainties and may prove incorrect. The Service may reference third-party information or methodologies; RINS does not endorse and is not responsible for third-party content.
9. No Warranty; Limitation of Liability
The Service and all output are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, RINS is not liable for any trading or investment losses or other damages arising from your use of or reliance on the Service. The full warranty disclaimers and liability limitations in the Terms of Service (Sections 7–8) apply and are incorporated here.
10. Conflicts of Interest
RINS, its operators, or affiliates may hold positions in, or trade, instruments that appear in the Service's output.
11. Acknowledgment
By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Disclaimers & Risk Disclosures, that the Service provides research and information — not investment advice, that you alone are responsible for your investment decisions, and that you may lose money.
